Career: Electrical Engineer

nT-TaoJuly 16, 2024

We’re going to change the world, and we’re going to do it using pulsed power and MW-rated inverters. If you can relate, then we need people like you to take power electronics to the extreme. Join us!

Job description

*Full-time on location. not suitable for students*
At nT-Tao, we're not just imagining the future; we're building it.

We are working on a groundbreaking Compact Fusion Energy system that is set to redefine energy generation, making it cleaner, safer, and more accessible than ever before. But to turn our vision into reality we need more than just ideas. We need action. We need innovation. We need you.

nT-Tao is a startup company based in Hod Hasharon, Israel. We are a team of highly motivated engineers, scientists, technicians, and enablers who believe that what we do today will be a game-changer for our planet and humanity.

Our team is growing and we're searching for an Electrical Engineer to support and design power electronics and pulsed-power generators for our fusion power system. Your work will range from developing inverters, drivers, and controllers, starting with device selection, control lines, and passive components up to diagnostics and automation. You will be working closely with physicists on tailored solutions to extreme requirements. You will report directly to our Director of electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in developing and commissioning multi MW electronic generators, driving tens of kA’s and kV’s through coils. You will handle the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the hardware and software. From Basic building blocks to large systems.

  • Select components to develop reliable, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.

  • Collaborate with the other R&D departments e.g. mechanical engineering, physics to complete commissioning efforts and seek opportunities to upgrade designs

  • Document work processes, from design considerations down to commissioning reports and schematics.

  • Take an active part in building project timelines and budgets including tracking and updating when required and lead design reviews of your work.

  • Write SOW documentation for consultants and external contractors providing time-saving services

Qualifications

  • *Full-time on location. not suitable for students*

  • At least a few years of experience in power electronic systems with an emphasis on designing power inverters.

  • Experience in design, manufacturing, installation, and testing in high DC and AC voltages.

  • Expert in Solid State switches (IGBT, FETs, SiC, GaN, SCRs).

  • Knowledgeable in magnetics, designing high-frequency transformers and inductors.

  • Knowledge in Capacitor selection and considerations.

  • Experience in creating high voltage and high current PCBs

  • Experience in laboratory measurements including using oscilloscopes and their peripheral probing solutions.

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, PSIM, LTSpice, KiCAD, Altium, Matlab, Python or similar.

You don’t have to meet 100% of our requirements (except being a student:-) ). We are looking for motivated people who are self-driven. So if you think you fit and want to work hard for a better future, go for it.
